Create 5 -10 questions that you would like to ask about American culture, University culture, Pittsburgh, or Robert Morris University. Be sure to ATTACH a file with this list of questions and an explanation of why you asked them to your post. This list of questions WILL NOT be considered part of your discussion.
Find a student. Ask someone from one of your classes, or go to a popular campus location such as RoMo's, Colonial Café, Wheatley Café, the Library, and/or Starbucks. Explain to them that you are doing an assignment and would like to ask some questions. You do not have to report the student's name, but please include gender, age, and academic standing (Freshman, Senior, etc.) in your journal.
Step 4: Interview the student. Use the questions that you created. Ask more if you think of any. You should take notes. If you are going to use a voice recorder you must get the student's permission first.
Step 5: Write a discussion post that is AT LEAST 300 words (you will probably need more) using proper grammar. Please include the following in your post:
Finding the student: Where did you find the student? Was it the first place you looked? Was it difficult to start a conversation with the student?
The interview: Summarize your interview and then provide your reaction to it. Discuss at least one thing that surprised you and why. Discuss at least one thing that you expected and why.
Your initial post and attached questions are worth 20 points.
Respond to at least two peer's discussion posts. Your responses should be at least 75 words and be a meaningful reaction (More than "interesting" or "good"). Each response is worth 5 points.
