Assignment: You will have to complete a term paper. The subject is of your choice. It can be anything having to do with human behavior or mental processes. Some students choose to do their paper on a psychological disorder. Others choose to do more nonconventional topics. I have had topics on "Why people get tattoos", "the Psychology of Water",. The following link is a description. The paper has to be in APA style. I have also included a link that describes APA. You must cite your sources in the body as well as a works cited page, and a title page. If you have additional questions, please let me know.

You will also be required to write a research paper. Your paper will consist of the following sections:

1. Introduction: Describe your topic and why you chose this particular topic

2. Body: Summarize the results of current research on your topic. Current means published within the last 5 years. Identify which topic of psychology you are addressing.

3. Conclusion: State what you learned from the material. Relate your findings to the material covered in class. Tell how the research is similar to, different from, contradictory to, or supplementary to the material covered in class and in the text. Note: In addition, you will gain or lose a maximum of 16 points for mechanics (spelling function, grammar, sentence structure, form, and appearance) Also, be sure to include a reference page for your sources.

When writing your papers watch your verb tense. You are reporting on something you have read, so the past tense is usually most appropriate. Your paper must be typed, double-spaced and at least 3 to 5 pages in length. Failing to meet the minimum requirements for length will reduce your score by 4 ponts. You are to have a 1-inch margin on all sides. You may use a 12-pitch font or smaller.
