Assignment:

Create an action plan that describes an innovative idea advocating for macro-level change for a local social problem as if you were a social worker addressing community leaders. Whether your action plan is in the form of a report or slide presentation, include the following section/slide headings and content:

Include the title of the action plan (CASA improvement of multi-county jurisdiction for abused and neglected children), the course title, your name, your faculty member's name, and the date.

Introduction: Introduce the topic of your presentation.

Social Problem and Need for Change: Identify the social problem you want to change in a specific, simple statement of change. Summarize the history of the problem in the context of current social issues.

Macro-Level Environment and Reality of Problem: Summarize the macro-level environment of the problem and describe your personal reality of this social problem.

Goal of Action Plan and Steps to Reach Objectives: Describe 1 goal for your action plan that is needed to address the social problem. List the objectives and action steps required to achieve your goal for a social action.

Proposed Change to Address Social Problem: Summarize the changes you are proposing for your selected social problem (establishing a multi-county jurisdiction to address and reach abused and neglected children in CASA program).

Benefits of Proposed Change: Summarize the benefits of the changes to the individuals involved.

Likelihood of Success: Explain the likelihood of your chance for success.

Key Advocacy Organization: Identify the key organization(s) involved with the local social problem. Describe the mission, goals, and business structure (from the organizational chart) of the founding organization advocating for this social problem in your area.

Network and Roles Involved in Action Plan: Summarize who is in the network of organizations serving the community affected by this social problem, their roles in your action plan, and how they're connected.

Organizational Chart of Action Plan Participants: Draw an organizational chart or diagram that shows the network of agencies and individuals involved in your action plan.

Individuals Affected by Proposed Change: Use a chart, graph, or diagram to show the estimated number of individuals affected by your proposed action plan.

Financial Costs of Proposed Change: Use a chart, graph, or diagram to show the estimated financial costs of your project to make the proposed changes to serve this population.

Conclusion: Conclude the presentation with a final statement calling for specific actions from community leaders.

References: Cite at least 2 scholarly sources to support your presentation. Be sure to include in-text citations as well as a separate References page/slide. Format citations and references for your sources and images according to APA guidelines.
