Introduction
In this phase of the project, you will use the troubleshooting methods discussed in class to assess and solve computer problems outlined in a scenario. You will determine which issues are causing the problem and outline the steps to fixing those issues. You must implement a step-by-step, logical approach to isolate and resolve the problem. You can use a flowchart diagram to address the problem, or you can provide a step-by-step outline of your process.
Note: If you decide to use flowchart diagram software, use the standard symbols for a flowchart diagram.
Scenario
You are part of a successful company, Cosmic Computers, that began as a small start-up but has quickly grown into a successful venture with over 500 employees. Part of your company's success is due to your ability to troubleshoot issues effectively. The helpdesk team has experienced a small amount of turnover since the company started.
Today, you received 2 troubleshooting tickets through your ticketing system. Your task is to diagnose the problem(s) with these machines, correct the problems, and document your work for company records.
Instructions
Scenario 1:
Download the virtual machine file assigned to you by the instructor. Import those files into VMware WorkStation Pro.
"This computer is approximately 2 years old and has been running well until the last 6 months, after it was moved from one office to another. In the last 3 weeks it has been taking a progressively longer time to boot and has begun running more slowly and even freezing. It has an Intel Core i7 9th Gen processor, running at 2.7 GHz with 4 cores (8 logical processors), 4GB of RAM at 3200MHz, and a 1TB Solid State Drive. It is running Windows 10 Professional. Username: Admin Password: Admin1!"
Using the troubleshooting methodology discussed in class, find, diagnose, and correct any problems. Use a step-by-step approach and/or a flow chart to keep track of your work.
Document your work including probable causes, actions taken to verify, and actions taken to correct the problem(s) for each computer. Review the marking criteria for guidelines on how to build your documentation.
Scenario 2:
A parent of one of your friends has a four (4) years old laptop computer. As you are a knowledgeable Information Technology student the parent asked you to help them to make their laptop run faster and allow them to store their pictures and files.

After four years of use now it takes five minutes to boot up. They cannot save large files anymore. When browsing the Internet, they often have 100 tabs open in the internet browser and this is slowing down the computer even more.

Detail the steps you will take to resolve each problem, and how you can verify the resolution of each.
