Question: Scientific Article Summary Write-up
The first thing you need to do is to begin by reading the paper of your choice through slowly for comprehension. It is useful to highlight parts of the article that you think may be important in the summary later. Also be sure to look up any words or procedures with which you are not familiar. The next step is to reread the paper and make notes. When you understand the paper well enough to distill the essence of the paper into 1 to 2 sentences that include all the key points and are fully comprehensible to someone who has not read the original paper, you are ready to write the summary.

Stick to the science!
1. Make sure you explain the background information for the paper. (The original author assumed a very knowledgeable reader who knew all the common jargon of that field).

2. Summarize an important aspect of the paper.

b. Is there some major flaw in the Methods or Conclusions?

2. The comparison paper following the writing prompt above. Make sure you are citing the information you are using from each document. PARAPHRASE!! Get things into your own words.
3. A Literature Cited page with the two sources present in Ecology style.
