[CASE STUDY: SIMONE] With the help of the previous nutritional plan you developed for Simone, she has been able to maintain her goal weight and managed, so far, to avoid putting back on any weight. Simone has come in for her second follow up consult, at the four-week mark. She mentions that she has been following the nutritional plan obsessively, but as a result, she feels left out when her housemates organise dinner dates and when they cook meals at home. Her housemates constantly give her grief about not eating the food that they eat and tell her that she needs to 'lighten up' and enjoy life more.

Simone admits that she feels extremely isolated when these situations occur, and it leaves her feeling sad and emotional. She also doesn't have any family or other close friends that she can rely on to talk to. As such, Simone resorts to emotional comfort eating when ever she has these unwanted feelings. While this instantly makes her feel satisfied and content, hours later she starts to feel helpless and guilty for her actions. During the consult she has asked for your support and advice on how to combat this and move forward with her goals.
