Employee productivity or performance (sometimes referred to as workforce productivity) is an assessment of the efficiency of a worker or group of workers. Productivity or performance may be evaluated in terms of the output of an employee in a specific period of time.
According to (Kotler, 2002) performance refers to fulfillment of an obligation. Over the years, organizational performance has long been associated with management of scholars and business leaders around the world. There is a broad agreement around the world that as a matter of corporate policy, every organization strives to be committed in a manner that is thriving and outstanding.
Policies guide the management on what is to be done and how it is to be done in a more effective and efficient manner. Human resource policies which are part of organisational policies are methods of actions selected usually by an organisation from among alternatives to guide and determine present and future decisions and positions in public matter. Without these policies, it is difficult for new and existing employees to understand organisation's culture, expectations and requirements.
