Aloha Ltd. is an FMCG company that has more than 100 distribution centers from which the company makes deliveries to its more than 3000 stores using its fleet of more than 4000 vans. Managing inventory flow from the company's suppliers through its distribution centers and into its retail outlets has become a massive task, and it has been facing tremendous pressure in meeting the demand and supply. The company has also reported that the difficulty in managing inventory flow throughout the company's distribution network and retailers also contributed to the problem. Most of the time, their warehouses and store backrooms become overstocked with inventory leading to difficulty determining which items should be discounted and moved to the store's shelves. It is becoming quite costly for them as Aloha Ltd. has increased its sales of groceries and food items due to the failure of monitoring expiration dates.
