Question

A 55-year-old man was admitted to an emergency room for his sudden somatosensory deficits and dysarthric speech. Suspecting a case of stroke, the neurologist ordered an MRI, which revealed a medial medullary lesion that involved the pyramids, medial lemniscus, and the fibers of the trigeminal-thalamic tract. Based on this lesion site, this patient will show all the following with the exception of: loss of pain and temperature from the face and oral cavity, mouthful speech, contralateral hemianesthesia, facial paralysis, contralateral hemiplegia.
