Do you think it is possible to have a successful work relationship with either a friend or relative due to the role conflict that can arise? I have found this conflict can also become an issue when a coworker moves into a place of leadership. It can be a struggle having to discipline a friend, whose position you were just in. In the scenario you provided, it took Steve leaving the company for them to resolve the issue but that is not always possible. What are some other ways of solving the issue so that neither role is compromised?
