RESEARCH OVERVIEW: During the semester each student will decide upon a specialized area of inquiry within the subject of macroeconomics. The student will choose their area of inquiry early in the term subject to the approval of the Professor.

Within the area of inquiry, the student will read at least three economics journal articles selected from the reading list supplied by the Professor.

At the end of the term, the student will write a Research Overview, which will contained a detailed summary of the contents of the articles, along with discussion and commentary of their importance to macroeconomic theory and empirical understanding.

The Research Overview will be a minimum of 8 pages (typed, 12-font, with 1" margins). An excellent Research Overview will review at least five articles and will make connections between these works and some of the other fields of inquiry from the reading list.
