The theory of intelligence that makes the most sense to me is the "Theory of Multiple Intelligences" by Howard Gardner. The reason it intuitively makes sense is because capturing the full range of abilities and talents that people possess takes more than just an intellectual capacity. Gardner suggests that all people have different kinds of intelligences. His theory includes ways such as verbal-linguistic, naturalistic, logical-mathematical, visual-spatial, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and the possibility of existentialist intelligence

While a person might be particularly strong in a specific area, such as musical intelligence, he or she most likely possesses a range of abilities. For example, an individual might be strong in verbal, musical, and naturalistic intelligence. This gives a more holistic view. It also brings to light that most people are good at something.

When working with people who may lack intelligence in one area it is likely they are skilled in another. If teachers can help the students realize where the exhibit intelligence and talent it can help students gain confidence and see a potential area of skill.
