Problem 1: The attached data set describes various discounts a shoe company offers, and the number of people who took advantage of the discounts.
1. Fit a logistic regression model to the data.
2. Use a simple linear regression model as the structure for the linear predictor.
3. Does the model deviance indicate that the logistic regression model from part 1 is adequate?
Problem 2: Check if adding a quadratic term in the regressor improves the model. Hint: Refer to Example 13.3 on page 434 in the textbook.
