One of the most important features of a system is its ordering into a hierarchy. Systems are not structured on a single level but rather process information and function dynamically across multiple levels. As such, any system is made up of interrelated and interdependent subsystems and is itself a subsystem within a larger system. In this sense, each level functions as a system in its own right.
1. Think of an organization that you are part of on a daily basis. Discuss how you communicate within this organization from a systems perspective.
2. Describe the organization you are discussing and how you are involved in the structural hierarchy of the organization.
3. Detail how communication within this organization is managed from a hierarchical perspective. Explain how it affects your communication (for example, talking with coworkers yet only communicating via memos from the boss).
