a. The menswear buyer found a strong assortment of men's "professional casual" dress. Cost prices were as follows:

4 dozen long-sleeve shirts., $18 each.

2 and a half dozen polos at $16.50 each

3 dozen buttin-down shirts, for $17.75 each.

Rather than pricing each with 50% markup, the buyer wanted to run a special fashion ad featuring men's professional casual shirts at one price. If he groups them all together and then takes a 50% markup, what would be the price point rounded off to the nearest whole dollar?

b. A buyer for the home-furnishings area tries to purchase merchandise at 50% markup or ,or einitially, because she must promote heavily in her department. The overall department markup is 48%. Determine how the purchase falls into the buyers' goal.
