Question

A large cosmetics company has a strict code of conduct that all new employees are trained on when hired. Existing employees are trained once per year, and compliance with the code is a factor in employee reviews. When making decisions, the company has a system where teams ask each other whether the decision is "legal" and adheres to the code of conduct. For example, while the company uses highly toxic chemicals in its manufacturing process, it disposes of those chemicals in whatever way local regulations require and is aware of potential laws that could ban these chemicals. Although the company is the only one in the industry using these chemicals, it's proud to have never received a citation for improper disposal. Which of the following best describes the company? Neither ethical nor socially responsible Both ethical and socially responsible Ethical but not socially responsible Not ethical but socially responsible.
