Your boss is interested in hiring a consultant to help identify potential managers among the current employees of a fast food restaurant. The manager's job is the help wait on customers and prepare food during busy times, oversee all aspects of the restaurant operations (scheduling, maintenance, on-the-job training, and food purchase) and help motivate employees to provide high quality and timely service. The manager is also responsible for resolving disputes amongst employees and customers and between employees. The position involves multi-tasking, good communication skills, working under stress and good customer service skills.

Your boss asks you to outline the types of assessment programs you believe would be the most helpful in identifying employees who could be successful managers. She also wants to know whether or not you would recommend the use of personality tests in deciding which employees to chose for management training. What would you tell her?
