In current years a major push in business is to exploit business data in order to streamline the operations or improve revenue via data analytics tools such as SAS, SPSS, Tableau, R, JMP, etc. In this course we will individually experience such analysis via JMP. There are cases in Blackboard that you can practice on and they are self explanatory. Your deliverables is the answers to the exercises at the end of each case captured in Word or other formats, then upload the file into Blackboard. You may not be able to do all the exercise questions, which is fine. You should do a minimum of 2 cases. Further information will be given in class.

The data analytics software we use is JMP, from SAS. https://www.csusb.edu/its/software/student-software

The key is for each of us to be exposed to these data visualization, data analysis, and predictive analytic tools. You may have done that at work with SAS, SPSS, Tableau, R, etc. those will be fine too. the data files should be able to load in other software, but I have not try that.

In this course the cases will use JMP for problem solving, data visualization, multivariate analysis, predictive analytics, etc.
