The first step in the right direction to implement this action plan stated above, to educate drivers about alcohol-related deaths would be to form a coalition of people dedicated to this, or groups that have a personal stake in seeing the success of this program. I visualize people such as our officers, public health employees, the county 17 school district, advocacy groups in the area, and healthcare providers who could collaborate to form and activate evidence-based strategies that would be successful to reduce future rates of alcohol-impaired driving in this county. I would choose to narrow my initial focus to education within the education courses for new drivers.
