2. Linear Regression is a useful method if you want to be able to predict one variable based on knowledge of another. Discuss other prediction methods that might be useful. Also, discuss some of the more advance Regression methods. When would these methods be appropriate? Provide examples of each method.

A store has an average of 25 people arriving each minute to checkout and each person on the average require 4 minutes to be processed at the checkout. What is the minimum number of cashiers required?
Assume the population standard deviation (s) is 0.5 and the sample size (n) is 100. Calculate the values for alpha, a type I error and beta, a type II error. (To calculate Beta, consider a mean that is 1 standard error away from the lower end valu..

Suppose the likelihood that any flight on Northwest Airlines arrives within 15 minutes of scheduled time is .90. We choose four flights from yesterday for study.
An important idea in data interpretation is choosing which graph to use under which circumstances. Describe the benefits of different graphs for different sets of data:
Hypothesis test for the difference between two means - Assume the population standard deviations are not the same. At the 0.05 significance level, is there a difference in the mean waiting time?
Calculate a 99% confidence interval for the true mean difference between pretreatment and after treatment testosterone levels of young male TBI patients.
Determine the critical value and p value for one mean large sample test.
Determine if there is a linear correlation between annual income and the amount of insurance? What is the linear regression line for this data?
Develop a hypothesis to investigate this problem based on the claim of the heat pump manufacturer
