Answer the following Questions :

1. State why and when health and safety control equipment, identified by the principles of protection, should be used relating to types, purpose and limitations of each type, the work situation, occupational use and the general work environment, in relation to: collective measures, personal protective equipment (PPE), respiratory protective equipment (RPE) and local exhaust ventilation (LEV).

2. State how the health and safety control equipment relevantto the work should be used in accordance with the given instructions and how to comply with control measures identified by risk assessments and safe system of work.

3. State which type of health, safety and welfare legislation, notices and warning signs are relevant to the occupational area and associated equipment and why.

4. List the current Health and Safety Executive (HSE) top  health risks and typical hazards associated with the work environment and occupational area in relation to resources, substances, asbestos, equipment, obstructions, storage, services and work activities.

5. State what the accident reporting procedures are and who is responsible for making reports.

6. State the methods used for reporting changed circumstances, hazards and incidents in the workplace and how changing circumstances within the workplace could cause hazards.

7. State the organizational policies and procedures for health, safety and welfare, in relation to: dealing with accidents and emergencies associated with the work and environment; methods of receiving or sourcing information; reporting; stopping work; evacuation; fire risks and fire exit procedures; rectifying; consultation and feedback.   

8. State the appropriate types of fire extinguishers relevant to the work when erecting and striking/ fabricating and maintaining timber and proprietary formwork systems and describe how and when these arebeing used in accordance with legislation and official guidance.

9. State how personal behavior and actions could affect others within the workplace and demonstrates responsibility for general health, safety and welfare, in relation to: recognizing when to stop work in the face of serious and imminent danger to self and/or others; contributing to discussions and providing feedback; reporting changed circumstances and incidents in the workplace; complying with the environmental requirements of the workplace. Please give examples from your area of work.

10. State how security arrangements are implemented in relation to the workplace, the general public, site personnel, resources, tools, equipment, workplace company, operative and PPE.

11. Describe how to use different methods of communication with line management, colleagues and customer to ensure that the work carried out is productive. Please also add why it is important to do that and how your working relationships could have an effect on productive working.

12. Describe how to complete and maintain documentation in accordance with organisational procedures, in relation to: job cards; worksheets; material/resource list; time sheets - and also explain the reasons for ensuring that documentation is completed clearly and within timeframes.

13. Describe how to apply principles of equality and diversity when communicating and working with others.

14. Describe the different types of technical, product and regulatory information, their source and how they are interpreted and state the organisational procedures developed to report and rectify inappropriate information and unsuitable resources and how they are implemented.

15. Please explain how to obtain and interpret the information relating to using and storing lifting aids and equipment. 

16. Describe your responsibilities under current legislation and official guidance whilst working: In the workplace, in confined spaces, below ground level, at height, with tools and equipment, with materials and substances, with movement/storage of materials and by manual handling and mechanical lifting.

17. Please explain how emergencies should be responded to in accordance with organisationalauthorisation and personal skills when involved with fires, spillages, injuries and other task-related hazards.

18. Describe the characteristics, quality, uses, sustainability, limitations and defects associated with the occupational resources in relation to: Lifting and handling aids; Container(s); Fixing, holding and securing systems.     18.    Describe and explain how and why resources should be handled and any problems associated with the resources are reported under the organisational procedures.   

19. Please explain how you interpret the given information, apply safe work practices, follow procedures, report problems when moving, handling and/or storing occupational resources.

20. Explain why the disposal of waste should be carried out safely in accordance with environmental responsibilities, organisational procedures, statutory regulations and official guidance. Also, please state the purpose of the work programme and explain why deadlines should be kept in relation to: progress charts and timetables; procedures for reporting circumstances which will affect the work programme.   

21. Please describe different types of information, their source and how they are interpreted in relation to: drawings, specifications, schedules, RAMS, cutting lists, manufactures' information, component standards and regulations, governing buildings (animal welfare).

22. Please describe the characteristics, quality, uses, sustainability, limitations and defects associated with the resources in relation to: proprietary formwork and associated items, tie systems, soldiers and wailings, protective coatings, fixtures and fittings, access equipment.   

23. Describe how to calculate quantity, length, area and wastage associated with the method/procedure when erecting and striking/ fabricating and maintaining timber and proprietary formwork systems?

24. Describe how to protect work from damage and the purpose of protection in relation to general workplace activities, other occupations and adverse weather conditions.   

25. Describe how you apply safe work practices, follow procedures, report problems and establish the authority needed to rectify them to:

- fabricate formwork systems for columns, walls, beams, soffits, kickers and pre-cast unit

- maintain formwork systems for columns, walls, beams, soffits, kickers and pre-cast units

- positioning and attach soldiers and wailings

- construct make ups, box-outs, blot boxes and stop ends

- positioning and secure tie systems

- recognize when formwork needs repair

- attach safe lifting provision

- erect and strike formwork systems for columns, walls, beams, soffits, kickers and pre-cast units
