An important space shuttle mission has been interrupted with an emergency that will delay the return of the crew to earth indefinitely. You are an emergency team that has been assigned the task of determining how long the crew can survive before carbon dioxide pollutes (how long can clean air be generated) their air supply and threatens their ability to breathe normally.

The Space Shuttle environmental control system handles excess carbon dioxide (which the astronauts breathe out - it is 4% by mass of exhaled air) by reacting it with lithium hydroxide pellets to form lithium carbonate and water. There are 7 astronauts on board the shuttle, and each exhales 20 liters of air per minute, and there are 25,000 g of lithium hydroxide pellets available. Assume the density of air is 0.0010 g/mL.
You must generate a detailed report (1-2 pages) that outlines how much time is left and how much lithium hydroxide is needed to extend their stay another 10 days (show the calculations that justify your conclusion).
