It is believed that there are 1000 enzymes in an E. coli cell [~1micrometer (L) x .5 micrometer (W)]. Estimate the approximate concentration of a typical enzyme and the number of the enzyme molecules inside each cell. Make any reasonable assumption that will help you calculate the numbers (for example: 50 mg/ml total proteins with an average of 30 KDa).
