Naproxen belongs to a class of pahrmaceuticals, the (S)-(+)-enantiomer is the desired pharmacological activity while the (R)-(-) -enantiomer is potentially a liver toxin. Due to this, commercial Naproxen is sold as the S-(+)-enantimoer with high levels of optical purity.
