Provide the structure of the final product, an equation and a detailed mechanism using arrows to show movement of electrons to arrive at your final product. The ketone used was cyclopentanone and the aldehyde used was benzaldehyde. First cyclopentanone was dissolved in 95% ethanol. Then benzaldehyde was added along with NaOH to the mixure. The solution was then mixed creating the aldol condensation product.
