Write balanced chemical equations for the reactions involved when salicylic acid is dissolved in aqueous NaOH and when salicylic acid is precipitated from a sodium salicylate solution by addition of HCl. Assuming that both reactions are spontaneous under standard conditions, label the stronger acid, stronger base, weaker acid, and weaker base in each equation.
