They also analyze existing policies and see how they are weak or where they could be improved. They also engage in policy enacting, policy implementation, and policy assessment. A policy that tries to assist disadvantaged people with resources such as healthcare, housing, or education would be policies that align with social work ideals and ethics. A policy like this is seen as trying to promote social justice, human dignity, and empowerment. Policies that promote social justice, human dignity, and customer empowerment would also be considered as matching well with social work ideals and ethics. Furthermore, if policymakers focus on the strengths and resources of individuals and families using a strength perspective rather than their deficits this also supports social work values and ethics. Policies that recognize the importance of the social environment, the value of social relationships, and the significance of values align with social work and its core values and ethics.
