A centrifugal air compressor is driven at 40,300 rpm. The inlet eye of the compressor has a hub diameter of 2.09 in and an an outer diameter of 4.56 in. The impeller tip diameter is 6.97 in. It has been found the compressor ratio is 2.44 and the air flow rate is 2.35 lb/sec when supplied with air at 14.7 psia and 81.3 degrees Fahrenheit. If the compressor has a slip factor of .87 and a stage efficiency of .8; what is the isentropic stagnation pressure rise across the compressor with slip? What horsepower will be required to drive the compressor? What will the stagnation temperature of air be at the exit of this compressor?
