A large healthcare organization, which is located in South Dakota, has been greatly impacted by COVID-19. Unfortunately, many employees are now concerned about coming to work in fear of contracting the virus. While healthcare professionals (e.g., medical professionals, janitorial staff members, etc.) know that they are required to be physically present to complete their job, various leaders and office staff members (e.g., accountants, HR professionals, billing assistants, etc.) do not feel comfortable coming into the office on a regular basis.
The executive level leadership team has recognized these concerns and has contracted with you, an external OD practitioner, to assist with this change effort. You have decided to utilize Kurt Lewin's change model to implement this change.
For this assignment, please do the following:
1. Explain your role as an external consultant and what competencies you must possess to successfully carry out this change initiative.
2. Explain why you have selected Kurt Lewin's model to implement this change effort.
