Staff development plan
According to the changing taste and preferences of customers, the organization also has to develop the skills and knowledge of staff accordingly, through staff development plan. This plan comprises development of skills and knowledge of the employees at all levels, so that they can survive successfully in the changing environment. It is a part of annual strategic planning. This plan helps the management to understand the working abilities of the employees, so that managers can analyze the weakness and strengths of the employees (Dirani, 2012). This evaluation also facilitates the managers to delegate the adequate roles and responsibilities to the employees as per their abilities.
The above was given as a response, Where it asks for Staff development plan, the answer is rather thin. and not considered adequate/ sufficient.
In any staff development plan, there should be a profiling/ mapping of needs, an attempt to look at competency and skills and management gaps, and training needs analysis and staff development needs analysis to plan for staff development.
How do you address competency gaps - do you bring expertise from outside; do you train your own; do you form strategic partnerships.
I would like you to please revisit this answer and build some latitude as well as depth in your answer to demonstrate that you are aware of and familiar with the processes I mention and their application in staff development plans.
It has be based on an empirical study/ data of profiling, competency needs, skills audits, competency gaps, and then training needs and staff development strategies.
Need to show what workforce (staff development) means and the planning tools available.
