A spring attached to the ceiling of an elevator is 10 cm long when nothing is hanging from it. It is 12 cm long when a certain mass is hanging from it and the elevator is at rest. How long will the spring be if the elevator moves downwards with a decreasing speed of 6m/s^2? What if the elevator moves upwards with a decreasing speed of 6m/s^2?
