Brainstorm a list of 5-10 specific gendered problems that you would like to see solved (or if not solved at least some change occur). The problems do not have to BIG, HUGE, GLOBAL issues like WORLD PEACE; often times, the seemingly small local problems all around use are the ones we have the greatest power to change. NOTE: choose a problem that concerns gender though you may also analyze other intersecting facets of identity such as race, class, sexuality, age, ability, or nationality as long as the role that gender plays
Avoid vague, general, or overused topics!
For example:
beauty ideals = vague (bad)
how teen fashion magazines communicate unhealthy beauty ideals to girls = specific (good)
gender and popular culture = vague (bad)
Why are female gamers treated so badly in the gamer community? = specific and original (good)
eating disorders = vague and unoriginal (bad)
How do eating disorders differ for boys and men and what should be done about this problem? = specific and original (good)
