Question

In this study, researchers conducted a field experiment trying to understand the impact of a specific economic system on individual dishonesty. By comparing cheating behavior across individuals from the former socialist East of Germany with those of the capitalist West, they examine behavioral differences within a single country. They find that participants with an East German background cheated significantly more on an experimental game than those with a West German background. The main findings from the paper is based on the following numbers: In the East Germany group out of 5,000 game iterations, 3,050 cheating incidents were observed. In the West Germany group, out of 5,000 game iterations there were 2,745 cheating incidents. Is this enough evidence to conclude that socialists cheat more than capitalists?
