Crystal Abuse comes in so many forms such as physical, mental, emotional, and verbal these could all be really scary and hard to cope with. The toll that it could take on someone could cause psychological problems. The scars from abuse can vary with the type of abuse one has endured. According to the article Does Child Maltreatment Predict Adult Crime?

States if a child has had maltreatment there are some risk factors of behaviors such as, antisocial behavior and crime among adolescents and adults (Hyunzee Jung, Todd I. Herrenkohl, J. Bart Klika, Jungeun Olivia Lee, Eric C. Brown). This is absolutely awful that children who are abused have these risk factors going into their adult life. My thoughts on what I think, will have a greater influence over resources accessible is human capital. According to our book human capital is the measure of a completed education, employment status and position, and living conditions (Burkholder, Nash, 2014).

Having the skills, the means, and knowledge gives a person the ability to support themselves to get out of an abusive relationship. The social capital I would use as emotional support, because it is used for personal relationships, such as seeking counseling or talking to family and friends.

I feel that everyone must be able to talk to someone and have that support. References: (Hyunzee Jung, Todd I. Herrenkohl, J. Bart Klika, Jungeun Olivia Lee, Eric C. Brown) (October-06-2014 ) Does Child Maltreatment Predict Adult Crime?

Social capital versus human capital, while I believe both social and human capital influence resources that are available for the abused, I feel as though social capital has a greater influence. Social capital is considered to be a support system of family, friends, and even those in the community who are willing to help someone when they are in need. Abused individuals can sometimes feel alone or even distant from those around them, often because of the way the abuser has made them feel, so sometimes developing social capital can be difficult (Burkholder & Nash, 2013). One study has shown that if social capital is "negative" it can lead to anti-social behaviors, abuse being kept secret, and mistrust of school officials, church, police, and other institutions that can provide help for those who are abused (Hogan, 2001). Other research has shown that protective factors for abuse range from a variety of good relationships with people of different social statuses and communities that coordinate resources that serve the abused population (CDC, 2013). Although Burkholder and Nash (2013) explain that those who live in poverty or lack education has been linked to abuse more than populations that are not vulnerable, it must also be noted that having a large social support system can help relieve many of the economic stresses that can contribute to abuse. There are many support programs out there that help people who live in poverty and even help provide quality education for people who have not obtained it. So while human capital can influence resources for those who are abused, I feel as though social capital holds more influence.

These studies tell me that having a large social support system will help enable an abused individual to get the help that they need to get out of a bad situation. Community support make a huge difference in the resources that are available to the abused individuals because it is up to the community to provide services for the abused such as medical, counselling, shelters, and other protective services. I also think that social capital can help prevent abuse by educating people about different situations involved with abuse or just being there to talk to someone that may be experiencing life difficulties that may lead to abuse. Those who are a part of someone's "social network" could also identify possible signs of abuse and talk to the individual about it.

If I were an abused individual, I would rely on social capital for emotional support and help through my difficult times as well. Social capital is not just support from friends and family, but support from those in your community as well. This could be support from a counsellor, someone who works for a hotline, a police officer, those who work at shelters, and a variety of other people in the community who could offer me help in my situation. Abuse can not only take its toll physically on a person, but it can mentally damage someone as well; therefore, social support is a pertinent factor in ensuring that an abused individual is able to "heal" from any abuse.

Many thanks to you for such a great amount for helping me into finishing my paper. In spite of the fact that I have not gotten a review yet, from my recognition I trust the author set aside his opportunity to chip away at this task. He could change my paper as required with no dithering and could give it back to me before the due date. I can't state thank you enough. :)
