Question

Some healthy literacy polices that I believe are the most important to addressing health disparities in my community of Sylmar California Include: Providing more health education programs because these programs focus on educating individuals about preventative care, managing chronic diseases and how to get around the healthy system. I would achieve this by obtaining and advanced degree in public health or doing volunteer work and stay updated with the latest information and best practises. Making sure that health information is provided in a language the community people can understand to serve the Sylmar diverse population. I would offer interpreter services, translating materials in different languages and ensure that cultural differences are respected in healthcare delivery. I would ensure that health care providers are trained to use clear and plain communication when teaching are community people health education because when clear communication is used patients are more likely to understand the material and it's easy to use the teach back method. Furthermore, I would ensure that health information is accessible to the community people or patients in different forms like (printed materials, audio, digital, and visual) this can help reach more people and all public education.
