Question

A tablet is one type of solid-dosage form of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). To prepare tablets with the desired characteristics (such as size, thickness, hardness, disintegration, and dissolution rates), excipients have to be introduced for various functions. A filler/diluent is usually added to interact with the drug and to carry it to the targeted area. The addition of lubricant reduces friction during the tableting process, and the introduction of disintegrant facilitates the breakup of the tablet when administered. Therefore, it is important to determine the correct formulation of the tablet.
