Question

Social workers use evidence-based methods of service delivery to determine interventions that are likely to support clients and their families. Documentation is a standard requirement of social work. Social workers document interactions with clients, keep track of resources available in the community, and write recommendations for clients and their families. The purpose of gathering and tracking such information is to assist care providers to see a full picture of a client's situation to develop appropriate interventions and strategies for support. Better documentation leads to better analysis, which leads to the more effective delivery of services. Social workers also use documentation processes to locate existing research, track resources while studying topics related to their cases, and learn from their findings to improve service delivery.
