Essay Topic: James Scott argues that the weapons of the weak constitute a “social movement with no formal organization, no manifestoes, no dues, no name, and no banner” (p.35).
Do you agree or disagree with his claim? Support your argument with robust evidence from other chapters in Scott’s book and at least 5 additional sources beyond syllabus readings.
**You do not need to read the entire Weapons of the Weak book. You will need to cite certain parts of the book besides the assigned chapter (chapt 2) in order to illustrate what weapons of the weak are and to give concrete examples. I suggest that you go over W of the W Table of Contents in order to identify sections which are most relevant for your argument and then read those sections in depth, citing (Scott year: pg.). However, these citations will not count towards the 5 additional citation sources. For those 5 additional sources, you can see who Scott references in his book (peruse bibliography) to identify additional sources. You should actually read those additional sources, not just paraphrase Scott's citation of those sources.
