SOCIAL INDICATORS OF CHINA AND CANADA Business Enterprise Envioronmnet
Each individual student will prepare an individual research paper that compares and contrasts the local (Canada) and Chinese economies in terms of using global, ethical, political that physical, and societal indictors.
Does the size and growth of the economies of the two nations have any relationships to capitalism and democracy? What is the impact of the Internet on the two national economies? How do these nations define capitalism in relation to national political policies?
Is there a relationship between economic growth and personal freedom with the two nations?
For the purpose of assurance of learning the GEPPS Research Project will receive 5 scores based on:
1. The ability of the student to conceptualize and describe the two national approaches to capitalism.
2. The appropriateness of choice for societal indicators, and correct metrics used to measure the local and Chinese economies.
3. A comparison of different in best-practice approaches to economic development for the two nations, linkages to ethical schools of thought and a rationale to support each position
4. The comparison of political systems in the two nations and the impact on economic growth, supported by longitudinal data.
5. The ability of the student to describe the relationship between economic growth and personal freedom in the two nation.
