Conduct a personal cultural assessment of a community or nation (e.g., Indian, Jewish, Canadian, Hindus), including the influences of ethnic or racial background; typical communication patterns (verbal and nonverbal); cultural values and norms; religious beliefs and practices; and health beliefs and practices.

Do a group presentation on the following topics based on the type of culture chosen by the student.

1) Identify and reflect on your own social and cultural perspectives and biases.

2) Show respect for diversity in communication with all people.

3) Identify issues that may cause communication misunderstandings or other difficulties.

4) Identify any conflicts you might face while working with people from this culture due to your own cultural values and differences.

5) What communication strategies can nursesâ€^TM use when they are working with someone from another culture?

6) Describe influences and changing practices in Australia and their impact on the diverse communities that make up Australian society.
