Task overview
This assessment is based on your experiences in Assessment 2: Conduct an Interview.
At the end of Assessment 2 you were provided with feedback AND you wrote notes based on the content of the interview and a brief reflection. Use the feedback provided, your notes and reflection in combination with the video recording of your interview to:
A: Write a Case Note Record of the interview you have conducted using the 'Data / Assessment / Plan' (DAP) model on the template provided.
B: Write a Reflection on your experience of conducting the interview using the Gibbs Learning Cycle as a model. Use the marking criteria sheet to ensure you have addressed each feature. Submit your case note on FLO.
Part A: (500-750 words) Review the video recording and the notes you took on the day following your Interview in Assessment 2. Structure your Case Note Record using the Data, Assessment, Plan (DAP) template provided - see Assessment 3 resources folder under Assessments in Topic Central. This resources folder contains additional information / examples of the DAP model to assist you.
You may use the video recording to assist you - while the Case Note can contain verbatim material from your interview - it is not a transcript. (Part A does not need referencing.)
PART B: (1500-1750 words) Structure your written reflection using the Gibbs Learning Cycle.
Description: Describe as a matter of fact just what happened during your interview. (Keep this very brief!).
Feelings: What were you thinking and feeling about your own performance during / after the interview.
Evaluation: Identify what went well and what did not go well during the interview.
Analysis: What sense can you make out of the situation? What does it mean for you as a developing practitioner?
Conclusion: What else could you have done? What should you perhaps not have done?
Action plan: How will you adapt your practice in the light of this new understanding? What plan do you have to further develop your skills. (Part B needs to be supported with references.)
