Overview: At the end of every college season (football, basketball, etc.) there is always discussion about which athletes are going to declare for the draft. An important aspect of declaring for the draft is obtaining a sports agent and understanding the implications to NCAA eligibility. The Banks v. NCAA is one example of what can happen during the process.
Instructions -
Read the case Banks v. NCAA and discuss it.
Divide your case brief into the following sections:
1. Summarize the case in your own words.
Be specific and include the who, what, when, why, and where of the case.
2. Give your opinion of the case and discuss the case's impact on sport managers/agents.
3. Relate the case to another similar case we've discussed in class that has been in the news or that you've read about/researched elsewhere (including your textbook).
4. Explain how, if you had been the sport manager or agent, you would have handled the case situation. Support your opinion with fact.
