Each of two persons A and B places their wallet on the table. Whoever has the smallest amount of money in their wallet wins all the money in the other wallet. Suppose that X and Y represent the amount of money in the wallets of players A and B respectively, and suppose that X and Y are jointly uniformly distributed on the unit square {(x,y)|0 < x < 1, 0 < y < 1}. Let WA be the amount of money that player A wins, which could be negative if player A loses. Show that E(WA) = 0. (Hint: ?rst calculated E(WA|X = x).)
