Question

You are a registered nurse working a night shift on a 5 bed medical unit in a small rural hospital in Northern Ontario. You are told that there is a 78 year old female client in Emerg who may be transferred to your unit. You find out she is on a Form 1 as she was negating to attend to her self-care at home. Other symptoms include: feeling confused, c/o feeling hot one moment and cold the next and irritability. Her daughter calls to tell the staff "she has been on some sort of psychiatric medication in the past and I know she takes something for sleep." What do you know and what do you need to know? what else would you be concerns with and why?
