Assignment - A Case Study of a chosen Small Medium-sized Enterprise Business

Read the article in Appendix 1 titled ‘Going digital to survive COVID-19: The choice for UK SMEs'.

Imagine you own a small business based in the UK, which has been affected by lockdown restrictions. You have decided to transform your business, and consider the opportunities that E-commerce can provide to support your business. In preparation for this, you are required to write a report, considering the following aspects:

1. Business overview: Name your business and provide an overview of the product or service that it provides/sells.

2. Explain how you will conduct an analysis before setting up your business for e- commerce, to understand where you should focus your efforts in building an e- commerce presence. Make use of a SWOT analysis.

3. Develop a Business Model Canvas for your business, to strategise how it will operate to create and deliver value. Use the business model canvas template provided on the Blackboard Module shell.

4. It is important to ‘Know your Customer'. Using the Consumer Decision Process (Figure 6.2), explain the types of marketing you will use at each stage of the consumer decision process and their main function in reaching your targeted marketspace.

5. Select any four (4) unique features of e-commerce, and discuss the ethical, social and political implications for your business.
