Small Group Analysis Assignment -

For your final paper, analyze a small group to which you currently belong or have belonged to in the past (not including this course). In the introduction to your paper, clearly identify the group or organization that you are analyzing (though you must change the names of specific group members in the context of your paper). Your analysis must integrate at least four (4) of the six (6) following areas:

1. Organizational Culture and Group Characteristics: Use the general systems concepts to illustrate their relevance to the interaction in the group you are analyzing.

2. Diversity Factors: Describe how individuals are integrated into the group you have selected and the relevant background factors for each member of the group. (Analyze how the diversity factors represented in the group impact group performance.

3. Leadership: Discuss how the various leadership concepts from the text and class are/were used or not used in the group you have selected. Integrate how biblical truth and a Christian worldview impact the leadership in the group or organization. Of the five types of power/leadership discussed in the video you watched in Session 3, analyze which are the most important for the performance and success of the group.

4. Decision Making: Discuss the process through which the group arrives at important decisions. Show where conflict can be a positive or negative component in these decisions.

5. Conflict Management: Evaluate how the group manages conflict and how consequences of unresolved conflict can damage group activities. Provide a recommendation for how resolution based on a biblical worldview and perspective could benefit unresolved conflict in group dynamics for this particular group.

6. Recommendations: Identify the driving and restraining forces within the group you have selected. Provide 2 or 3 recommendations for how to promote positive change within the group or organization.

Your analysis must be specific and utilize examples that detail how the group you are analyzing fits with the theories that were covered in this course. Be sure to explain how the group could implement ideas presented in this course to become a more productive unit. Your analysis and recommendations must be supported by a minimum of five academic sources in addition to your text.

Your paper must be 7 pages (750 words) in length (not including the cover and reference pages) and be formatted according to APA guidelines.
