You run a small grocery store that has a single checkout line. Customers arrive at the store at an average rate of 45 per hour, and inter-arrival times are distributed exponentially. A study of the time required to check out a customer revealed that the checkout times are nearly normally distributed, with a mean of 1 minute, and a standard deviation of 30 seconds.
