In this chapter, we learned to use the mean, standard deviation, and size of a sample to test whether population mean was actually different from a claimed value. For each of the following, tell which circumstance makes it easier to convince someone that population mean differs from the mean (m0) proposed in the null hypothesis:

a. Sample mean is close to m0 or sample mean is far from m0.

b. Values are concentrated around a sample mean that is different from m0 or values are very spread out around a sample mean that is different from m0.

c. Sample size is small or sample size is large.
