Prompt: Single most influential force in today's society
There are many influences in the world today and those influences determine our worldview and our personal values. When you look at social media today with Facebook, Instagram, Tik-Tok, Snapchat, and Twitter; trends start or conversations around these trends begin and before you know it there is a new controversy. Parents have to stay locked into these media sites to monitor the information their kids are getting and intervene at the appropriate time. The education system is not what it used to be, in some areas people may say the system has failed children, but some may say it has saved this generation. Either way it has some influence on the way children view the world around them and the questions they may bring up to their parents. Influences that are wrong become temptation and often can become an addiction. "Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41, ESV).
Parents and family is the single most influential force in today's society. Some parent's seek out help to be the best parent possible in raising their children through watching other parenting blog's, reading parenting books, modeling TV families, or celebrities families through social media. Honestly, whatever influences the parents that is passed on to the child or other family members because if their education, social media, religion, or greed for money is what influences them, then that is usually passed on to the next generation. This plays the same role when a bad parent doesn't provide for a child's needs or neglect the child in any way may influentially force a child to troubled into adulthood and never be able to get on a path to success. However, in the same light that negative influence from a parent may influence a child to never be like their parent, but be determined to break the cycle of neglect and be a success in society. The transmission of conduct problems from parents to children is influenced when parenting practices are ineffective (Prugda, E., Burke, K., p. 2). No matter the if the influence from the parent is positive or negative it ultimately will influence what that child will value growing up because they take those things that happened in childhood and it molds who they will become.
