Assignment: Power Electronics UG Project Guidelines
In class, we discussed Power factor correction done using power electronics as shown in the circuit/block diagram below. For this project, do the following:
1. Simulate the circuit using Matlab or any software of preference2. Show the source voltage and current waveforms before and after correction3. Send the simulation files to me by May 1st. The report should also be submitted with an abstract, a short introduction, discussion of results, and conclusions.

The paper is about the power factor correction using power electronics. Here separate loops such as voltage and current controlled loops are used. In this paper a boost converter with a rectifier is also used for achieving the unity power factor. The simulation results depict the achievement of nearly unity power factor.
